Easton police raiding a city apartment early Thursday morning in connection with a drug sales investigation caught a man in the middle of packaging crack for sale, authorities said.

The man, Brandon Woodson, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 52-year-old Woodson was sent to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail, records show.

Easton police have been investigating crack cocaine sales for the past two months out of the apartment in the 1000 block of Northampton Street, including controlled drug buys, police Lt. Matt Gerould said.

Thursday morning, officers with the department's vice and special response unit raided the apartment.

Inside they found Woodson and another person, and Woodson was in the middle of packing crack to sell, Gerould said. The other person is not facing criminal charges, police said.

On a kitchen table, police said they found a plate with loose crack cocaine, packaged crack in plastic bags, a razor blade and tweezers.

In a lunch box on the kitchen floor, officers found two large baggies that Woodson said had crack cocaine and powder cocaine in them, records say; they field tested positive for cocaine.

Cash was found in the apartment and drugs were also found in a vehicle parked across the street, Gerould said.

Police said a cellphone found in a living room was used in the controlled drug buys, and cocaine in the buys was in small blue plastic bags identical to bags found in the apartment.

In an interview with police, Woodson reportedly admitted the drugs were his and he was dealing drugs in the city, court records say.

Woodson is a registered sex offender, following a 2007 conviction for rape, sexual assault, and unlawful contact or communication with a minor, according to Pennsylvania's Megan's Law website.

His last registered address was in Philadelphia.
